Hi,

A year ago I was 78 kg which I find ok. But irregular life made it 87 kg during the last year. 4 weeks ago I started making walks and controlling eating again. I eat oatmeal, veggies, tuna, rice, bananas, yoghurt and so on. The first ten days no weight loss, but now 82 kg. (Had one unintentional woosh at 84 kg after being invited to a dinner with drinks.)

First weeks really hungry, but hunger gets less with time. But more tired when I eat less. First weeks eat around 1400-1800 kcal and lost maybe 2600-3000. After a week of making 1-2 daily walks, I made 8-12 k daily, occasionally towards 20.

Now that hunger is less I can often force kcal down towards 900-1200. But legs and mind tired in the evenings on low cal. Can't make another walk in the afternoon on low kcal. Green salad with vinegar works against hunger. Had very slight edema in lower leg a few evenings, took 300 kcal boiled rice.

Sometimes need to eat in the evening to fall asleep. Walk 7-8 k in the morning. On low kcal and when depots are getting depleted I sometimes get tired after 7-8 (whereas I could do 20 some weeks ago). I assume I could walk further if I eat more.

May need another 3-4 weeks on this to reach 78 kg.

OK, it may not sound super healthy but I got a limited time to lose weight. I monitor body and eat healthy.

When starting the diet, it seemed to take a couple of weeks before the body accepted lower kcal intake and could suppress hunger. If I would eat more now I think I would get more hungry, but I could also walk longer distances if I eat more.

Nothing special. I just saw this board and wrote this to see what comments may come

You need to eat more. I'd be tired all the time with what you are doing too. Why do you have a limited amount of time to lose this weight? You do know the faster you lose, the less sustainable the loss is likely to be, right?

So a 57 year old man on less than 1200 calories a day. If this is not a troll post. Say good by to your muscle mass. Try using some common sense the reason your tired and lethargic is your not eating enough. Even though I don't have your height as your a man my guess is your already in a healthy weight range. I suggest you go and see a health professional to deal with your obvious issues and get some advice on real healthy eating.

I am just forced in time. This seems to be the best way to me. I only seem to be able to keep strict regimen when living back home.
i have done it before, and kept the weight until I travel and eating/exercise habits become disorganized.

I lose some muscle mass, but not too much. I think I have an "anabolic predisposition". Just using dumbbells for a week will make it look ok :)
But I also get fat easily.
