Advice on type of weights/strength training for a beginner?

Hello:
I'm interested in adding weights/strength training to my workout routine, and I'm looking for some advice. My only experience with this ever was that I used to do Joyce Vedral's dynamic tension video at home with very light 3 lb. weights and I had great results. However, I have heard some people say she has bad form, and I have just recovered from a frozen shoulder so I want to make sure I learn good form.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar program where the person has good form? Or should I go to a gym and do machines? What are advantages of light weights at home vs. machines at a gym vs. other alternatives?
Thanks so much,
Peachy

There are some great programs you can do at home. Even using a machine at a gym it is still possible to have bad form, or get injured. That being said it really depends on what works best for you. I prefer to workout in my own home, it saves me the wasted time of commuting back and forth to the gym. You could do something like P90X3 which is 30 minute workouts at home designed to burn fat and build muscle, or something like Les Mills Pump which is a barbell based workout. It really just depends on what you will enjoy doing. Feel free to add me or msg me if you have any questions.0

Thanks so much, kristinashelt! I will look into P90X3 and Les Mills Pump. I appreciate the suggestions. I love using the light weights at home. It definitely would be much more convenient than going to the gym.0
