OMG! I am going to do it!

Tonight, after I sign up for my new gym membership, I am going home and signing up for my first HALF MARATHON OMG! It is May 15th and I really can't wait! OMG
Tips, advice, suggestions? ALL WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Top tips (from someone who has been running for two years)...

    1. Build your mileage slowly each week.
    2. Listen to your body...if it hurts, ease off.
    3. Vary running surfaces if at all possible (treadmill, roads, off-road).
    4. Fuel your body properly. (Educate yourself as needed).
    5. Run with another person every now and then (if possible).
    6. Don't push your pace (especially in the beginning).
    7. CROSS TRAIN! (reduce your injury potential by mixing it up...walking, biking, swimming, classes, etc...)
    8. Enjoy it! Be proud of your body and the amazing things it can do!! :-)
