I know I need to eat a good amount of protein while having a calories deficit to lose body fat, but how much protein do I need? I'm currently eating 1800 calories, I'm 18 male 5 ft 8 and 147 lbs. Some people say it's 1g of protein per 1lbs of my weight and some say 1g of protein per lean muscle mass.. And MFP says I only need 92g, so which is right?
PS I'm not to bothered about gaining muscle, I just want to keep my muscles and burn body fat

It really depends on leanness, available fat stores, level of energy deficit and training experience. I would also pay consideration to what cost is associated with potentially going slightly over on protein in exchange for other macronutrients as that's a relevant consideration (physical cost, effect of reducing carbs or fats in order to raise protein level, personal preference within food choices/etc, effects on satiety, ....).

All that jargon aside, I personally find 1g/lb LBM to be a reasonable starting point from which you can make adjustments to based on results and based on above conditions.
