I am NOT looking foward to my cake tasting for my wedding cake this summer (wedding the next summer) how do you handle it when you HAVE to eat things you shouldnt? I am going to enjoy cake at my wedding, but tasting all those yummy flavours may be too much for me, lol. My fiance doesn't really care about the cake but I am kind of picky about wedding stuff. OMG this will be a nightmare, lol, I picture myself with cake all over my face and just mowing down on slice after slice! lol

Let me go for you
I love cake and will save the calories for it - I allow myself one dessert a week. I would only have one cake tasting a week (I did one with a bride two years ago where we did three in one day, it was a little overwhelming). You just take one bite of each flavor, so you know which one is the best. Bring paper with you and write down your favorites at each location. This is also good to know later on when you need to bring a cake for an office party or whatever.
This should be lots of fun - and really, unless you insist, like me, of going with every bride you know - you only get to do this once!0 -
Just get a good workout in before/after the tasting.
Wedding tip - brides-to-be sweat over EVERY detail, but if you think about all the weddings you've been to, can you remember the flavor of any of the cakes you had? I couldn't even tell you what flavor cake we had at my own wedding.
Just relax & enjoy! :flowerforyou:0 -
Take a bite of each, and the one you really like, eat a whole piece.
Just kidding. Just take enough of a bite to get the taste for choosing, and then REALLY look forward to eating the one you pick on your wedding day.0 -
Just enjoy it!! Taste every one but don't eat an entire slice of course! This is something you get to do only once and you should be having a blast, not worrying about how many calories are in each bite or whether red velvet is healthier than hummingbird cake or whatever.
Eat up, savor each bite, then go for a nice long walk before bed. Have fun!! :happy:0 -
Exactly you must taste to see what you like. Yes cake is fattening... but.. don't deprive yourself of something becasue of that.. taste each piece and make sure you walk a lot that day. If you deprive your self you will endulge later and that is not good either.. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS0
