HRM?

Options
I have seen a few people now posting about HRMs

What is the deal with them? are they worth it?
Do you wear them all the time or just when exercising

are there any that sync with a phone app which then subsequently syncs with MFP?

I guess my ideal would be a fitbit style HRM that is discreet enough to wear all the time and basically does all the syncing work without me having to put too much effort in!

NB. I have noticed the irony that I want something that requires as little effort as possible on my part when it is related to exercise lol

If they are worth it or not depends on what information you want to track about your exercise and what exercise you do.

No HRM counts calories ... they count heart beats and then use a formula to estimate caloric burn for specified activities where there is an established relationship between heart rate, oxygen uptake, and calories in a laboratory setting. If you want to track your heart rate all day, they can do that ... they cannot give you an accurate caloric estimate over the course of a day, only for workouts in those certain activities.

Multiple apps and devices sync easily with MFP.
