I want to post on a subject that everyone seems to overlook when it comes to diet and exercise and loosing or gaining weight. And that`s our mental conditions!
People gets on new diet plans and health kicks and goes full bore. They eat great, exercise and drive themselves crazy making sure they`re doing and eating all the right things. They asks all the same questions that everyone has asked before them, and then the majority fails. And why is this?
The answer is simple, stress and everything else in your life overtakes the new you, that you are trying to be. And that new you (that you were seeking) is weak and overtaken by the old. And your back sitting in a drive thru window and depressed.
Before a person worries about macros and carbs and etc, you have to get your mind right. If your stressing about an ex or family or money or whatever triggers that crazy in your head, you better get that in check first. If not, you will be choking up another failure.
Don`t set goals that are near impossible or so far away that it will take forever to reach. That is only a set up for more depression. Make your goals daily. ie: today I won`t drink any soda`s and I will take a 30 minute walk. Take the win, crawl before you walk. Keep the finish line in mind, but live for today. Champions are not made in one game or race, its winning day by day!
Like a person told me a long time ago, lighten up, you need to stop being you all the time! :noway:
Below is a copy and paste article snippet that says a lot.
You’ve heard that laughter is the best medicine, and that holds true for the brain as well as the body.
Looking for ways to bring more laughter in your life? Start with these basics:
Laugh at yourself. Share your embarrassing moments. The best way to take ourselves less seriously is to talk about the times when we took ourselves too seriously.
When you hear laughter, move toward it. Most of the time, people are very happy to share something funny because it gives them an opportunity to laugh again and feed off the humor you find in it. When you hear laughter, seek it out and ask, “What’s funny?”
Spend time with fun, playful people. These are people who laugh easily—both at themselves and at life’s absurdities—and who routinely find the humor in everyday events. Their playful point of view and laughter are contagious.
Surround yourself with reminders to lighten up. Keep a toy on your desk or in your car. Put up a funny poster in your office. Choose a computer screensaver that makes you laugh. Frame photos of you and your family or friends having fun.
Pay attention to children and emulate them. They are the experts on playing, taking life lightly, and laughing.
