Did anyone see Jane Fonda on Oprah today. She said (and this isn't exact) that you shouldn't strive for perfection but strive to be whole. It really made me think. What makes you whole?

Great post! I'm looking forward to watching the rebroadcast at 11:30 tonight.

She is 100% right. When I live outside of myself - do things for others, enjoy my job, stop focusing on all the negative things I seem to find about myself, I am much healthier and whole. I meditate and do yoga as well as being a Reiki Master/Teacher. These things have helped me reaize that since I am a 7 year cancer survivor, nothing is as wonderful as being tuned in to others and to the joy life can bring. It's all small stuff, so I don't let it get to me anymore. In fact, I look for the humor in every situation - cause it's always there!!

I wish you all peace, happiness and purpose.

mlcdz, you hit the nail on the head. I have always been a little self-absorbed but the times in my life when I'm giving to otheres have been some of the best. I did think it was ironic that she said that and then said she had plastic surgery. Kind of talking out of both sides of her mouth...lol!

I also 100% agree. Right now I have to focus more on exercising and toning my body than just losing weight because if I don't, I will drive myself crazy and give up. I have lost three clothing sizes since July (thanks Zumba!) but gained a little weight when I added strength training (Kettleworx). Even though the scale says "gain" my body is looking leaner. I am going to keep working on the whole me rather than chase a number.

Thanks for posting - I have the episode on DVR but haven't sat down (ha!) to watch it yet.

    Hanoi Jane

No doubt that she is a great and talented actress. Have some definite opinions about her actions during the Viet Nam war.
