Can anyone help? Kettle bells is not on the current list of cardiovascular exercises. How many calories should I be allocating by time or do you use a current exercise on the list as they are comparable?

Thanks
Melanie

When I do kettlebells I use this site: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/calories_burned.asp

Then I do the "create a new exercise" to add it in.

Its difficult as you burn calories during aerobically, and for up to 36 hours after anaerobically.

Best way is to wear a HRM during your workouts and take the anaerobic calories as a bonus.

Invest in a heart rate monitor (really not that expensive I've seen $20/$30 all the way up to $100+). Track your heart rate for a few classes and make your own work out (Using some sort of calories burned in relation to average heart rate calculator. Just google it, there are tons online). Then when it gets easier, check your heart rate again to make sure you're still burning the same amount. That's how I track all my work outs- it's much more accurate!
