How much should weight gym cost?

There is a strength and condition gym by my house. I went in and talked to the owners and I liked them and their philosophy and would like to join. They have all of the proper equipment for heavy lifting. The gym was clean. The cost seemed expensive. How much do you pay if you go to a gym that specializes in lifting.
