this is not really website related...but a trip ( our first ) is being planned w/ my sister/43, her son/almost 16, her daughter/12, my mom, and myself for sometime in November, before Thanksgiving. we are about 5 hrs away and wondering....

1. would it be better to travel/shop..... Fri/Sat/Sun OR Sat/Sun/Mon?
2. are there any attractions/stores that are a *must see*?
3. what about the MOA coupon booklets I have seen when checking out hotel rates online? worth it?

been doing some research, but would like any advice, suggestions, info from anyone who's been there or lives there to help make this an even better experience.

thanks in advance!

MOA is literally in my back yard and the weekends there are usually pretty packed so go Sat/Sun/Mon if you can...

Must see attractions are obviously the amusement park, the underwater world, drive the racecars, and check out the VIP theater if you want beer/wine/service during a movie. I love the Nordstrom Rack for deals and the dining there is pretty good. I would recommend "CRAVE" as it has become a bit of a local chain and has something for everyone.

I am not familiar with the coupon booklets, sorry.
  • I used to go every week! Weekends are PACKED so Satt Sun Mon is probably better!

seconding sdiannazo's recommendations . Also, if you are kinda nerdy, MagiQuest is bomb XD I hosted a fake birthday party there and it was awesome! Small, but I managed to get lost inside *facepalm*

Mirror Maze might be interesting, never tried it, but you can go as many times as you like for one price. And you can't cheat by looking at the floor or ceiling because they made it look like a kaleidescope :)

If you have Godiva Rewards (or feel like signing up for it for free) you can get a free truffle the day you sign up and one per month afterward

Random suggestions, but that was what I did at MOA. Don't care for the theme park, (I want Camp Snoopy back!) but the underwater world is worth a visit!

Food-wise, I love Rainforest Cafe (it's rainforest themed!) though it's spendy and depending on where you sit the decor is all different. Try not to sit too close to the waterfall if you do go

Nordstrom Rack is awesome, the Wisconsin cheese place has cheese samples forever, and Legoland is pretty rad.

LOLA Is a brand new Teen and Junior shop boutique that opened in MOA last week. Take your girls there, you will get AMAZING customer service and great value for current trends and fashion clothes for your girls!

    On a lighter note!

Keep up the exercise while on your trip and watch your diet, you will have a great time! Enjoy yourself and have fun.

  • Just an FYI..... we were there on Saturday and Lego Land is all torn down for remodeling, they are building a bigger and better version. Tons of great stores there and ALOT of great walking!! Have fun!!

I live in MN also and one thing I cal add...if you are directionally challenged (I can get lost in a cul-de-sac), one word...GPS. Well one acronym. I got turned around in there and the place is a friggin CIRCLE!

And write down or tattoo the location of your car. It is multi-tired and on multiple sides of the mall.
