Accountability & Motivation

My 20th HS reunion is in August, and I am properly motivated as I have not seen any of my former classmates after graduation. I shipped out to basic training the week after, and spent my leave time with my family. I am now out of the military and living on the other side of the country. Since the Army, I've become a chef, where gaining weight is an occupational hazard...and if gaining weight was defined as such, OSHA would have my butt!

I hold no illusions about getting back into a size 4 in the next two months, but getting down to a 10 from a 14, I think is doable. Reducing my "bye-bye" in my triceps would also be nice.

My calorie goal is 1640 per day, and I started Stronglifts 5x5 yesterday. I joined a gym, and have a session with a personal trainer once a week to help me with form, and keep me on track.

What I really need is accountability. I get busy, or end up pulling crazy hours because the dish washer walked off the job, or the cash registers went down, or the delivery didn't come on time...then I forget to log my food. Any help managing that from other equally busy folks would be much appreciated.

I'd also like to see what other people are eating...maybe there is a swap I can make that will work out better, or something I hadn't thought of, or just something that sounds delicious! (I really, really like delicious!)

My diary is open though you're bound to be much more creative & adventurous when it comes to food!

If you don't already have one, get a digital food scale. One for home & work actually. I often log my foods early in the day, and pre-planning may help you also. Keep some snacks on hand. Easy things like almonds, cheese, grapes, etc. Things you can portion out ahead of time and just grab & go when things get busy.
