Hi Everyone.....I recently discovered myfitnesspal and added the app to my phone and so far i really think i can stick to this one! Ive never been good at calorie counting, etc but i love the fact that i can scan barcodes and stuff!
Anyway, I'm a 33 yr old mom of 3. I am a photographer and work as a part time receptionist as well. NEVER in my life struggled with weight until I started having kids and getting older. Now i'm a stranger in the mirror. A couple years ago i lost 30lbs using Phentermine/Adipex (bad i know!) and 4hrs of tennis nightly. I kept it all off until I came down with a surprise heart problem in September (born with it, but came out due to finding my grandpa deceased in his home and the trauma affected my heart) and basically had to be sedentary and I gained 20lbs back. I had a heart ablation (7 burns in my heart) in February and just now starting to feel ready to try to exercise. I completed a 30 day ab challenge and started another challenge that my heart wasn't ready for yet, so i fell off the wagon.
I really want to change my eating habits. I feel more determined now than I ever have before. I told my mom the other day, so many women have babies and don't lose the weight and just accept that they are a mom and it's OKAY to be heavy bc of that...but that is not something that i personally want to accept or use as an excuse. Might be fine for others, but not for ME.
I also have a condition called Lymphedema, in which the lymph nodes in my hip area aren't working for some reason and my left leg/foot swells badly...and my right one is starting to swell. With this condition I have been advised NOT to gain weight if I want to continue to be a walking woman when I am older. Lymphedema makes it hard to exercise because one of my legs is heavier than the other, and also a bone-aching pain, but I normally can push through the pain and continue on if its tennis--which is my passion.
Right now my goal is to get healthier for myself, and my family, so that i can be the mom/wife that I want to be for them, and hopefully lose 40lbs or more on the way.
