For months I've been tracking food and exercise on here but I haven't exactly been setting the scale on fire. So I went and bought a Polar F6 Heart Monitor. OH MY GOD! Apparently, my heart is in extremely good shape. For all the exercise listed on the site, I'm burning about half of what they say I should be. I knew something was up when I first used the monitor. My neighbor walks with me, she also has the Polar F6. We're very similar in body size, weight and age. I had to keep sprinting away from her and back again to keep my heart rate within it's target range. Walking an hour and 45 minutes at 4 MPH she burned 810 cals, I burned 601... GEEZ! So I started plugging in the actual calories for everything. No wonder it's taking so long to lose a pound!!! I'm heartbroken, but motivated. Now I know what I've got to do!!!

I really want to get an HRM. They seem well worth the buy! That's a great discovery! (even if it is a bit disappointing) At least now you know!

Yeah, people on here don't realize that the numbers on here are averages and are just for reference, to really know what you are burning you need a heart rate monitor.
