"Stop Exercising so much" (rant)

I just wanted to know if anyone else goes through this.
Ok so I've been on my weight loss journey for a year and a half now and I'm very close to my weight goal now.
The following annoys me so much that I literally cannot control my anger in most situations where it happens.
Me: ... Yeah I've started to weight my food. It makes such a difference to calorie counting!
Random person or family member: OMG you need to stop. You're gonna get sick. You're really young and 13% body fat is way too low for a target.
I'm like **** you! (At this particular occasion, I had a plate FULL of stir fry in front if me so there was no way anyone could think I'm malnutritioned or something.
Basically, when you're overweight, you have no control over your life and you need to stop eating so much and exercise and when you're at a good weight and are looking good, you're unhealthy and obsessive.

If their complaints are THAT specific, it's possible that you spend too much time talking about your fitness goals. I could see that getting annoying to people.0

Let them say whatever they want. They can sit back and enjoy a life of mediocrity when you're out there busting your *kitten* to achieve something you set your mind to.0

My husband went through this. He got down to something like 10% body fat, which was his goal, and he was at about 20BMI. Low end of range for him was 18. He's put back on a "few" pounds since then, but not terribly much.
When he was on his game, my family really got on his case saying he looked gaunt and sick. They even started saying stuff to me. I knew what his goals were and what steps he was taking to achieve them, and was like, "Mind your own freaking business." I mean really, they gripe at me for being obese, and grip about him being too skinny. You just can't make some people happy.
My dad used to say something to the effect of "Best shut the mouth and be thought a fool then open it and remove all doubt." Don't let the fools derail you. You know what your goals are. You might want to keep some of the info a little "closer to the vest" so the criticizers have no ammunition with which to annoy you.
But seriously - don't let the idiots bother you.0 -
I view people that workout and watch their diet as very strong and disciplined. I don't go around and try to conform people but am passionate about my own health and have a special respect for being disciplined. Generally the people who rant about your lifestyle, cannot make the commitment to make that change so they choose to put others down that do.
Although it's tough when it is family, you expect that they will back you up. As long as you are losing in a healthy way, proper nutrition, and exercise, I wouldn't take to heart too much of what they are saying.0 -
Fortunately, the amount of people who support me outweigh the ones who don't but can get very annoying, no?
Btw, this conversation happened when the other person started asking me (in shock btw) if I'm gonna eat any rice with the chicken and vegetables in my pocket. My "no" started it.0
