Gardening Tips

Okay, recently I planted some sweet onions but the only thing I know how to do is to plant them. The issue is taking care of them and harvesting them and reseeding them.?
How do I take care of them in this weather? I read they are mainly grown in the cooler months and I planted close to the summer
When do I harvest them?
How do I get their seeds so I can start over?

Also I don't want to resoil my garden and I want to keep the bugs and weeds away? Is there anyway without going to the store?

If I were a sweet onion. I'd want you to talk to me and be nice to me. Water me and love me. And sprinkle bacon near my roots.

I'm in the market to grow ginger and avocados. And to one day own a date tree but from what I understand gardening takes time and patience. Apparently i have to wait years for the date tree to "grow" and to produce dates. I have an issue with this because date trees should produce dates while growing. that's the logical thing. But i have discovered through my rant date trees are not logical. ok bye!

You should check a website dedicated to vegetable gardening. I would add that you should find a vegetable fertilizer also.
