I am going to start crossfit and wanted some feedback from others that have tried it or are currently doing it. I normally lift weights and add some cardio in, but have decided to change it up a bit. I'm excited about starting Crossfit and think it'll be something I'll really get into

I do Crossfit 3 days a week, and Boxfit 2 days a week! They are 45 min bootcamp sessions, and are honestly my favourite time of the day!
It is always challenging and fun, and (I'm not sure if this goes for all classes, or just mine) always different. I do dispise Burpees, but other than that, it's awesome!0 -
I do weight lifting three times a week and the other 4 days I do crossfit. I have to say I love it. I never know what I am going to be doing and it is always a challenge. I love doing the olympic lifts, though my form is still a work in progress, but I am working on it and I never sacrifice said form to beat the clock. It is a small group of people and nobody is a *kitten* which makes it even more fun. I would recommend it to anyone as long as the coach knows their stuff and doesn't let you get away with sloppy form. I don't mind the burpees so much. I used to hate KB swings but now that I have figured out how to do them I am sweet. Can't wait for tomorrow's workout!0

Crossfit is a great switch up for you. I was doing all cardio and weight lifting in my home gym and plateaued. I have been doing Crossfit for 3 weeks and already feel my core strengthening, my legs are stronger and I am actually burning more calories doing Crossfit than I was doing it at home. Also Crossfit is a great muscle confusion workout because your body can't ever get adjusted when it's never the same. I say go for it, you won't be disappointed. Almost everyone that goes becomes close because it's as much of a community as any gym will ever be.0

I can't say more positive things about CrossFit. Take the plunge and go for it! It will change your life. I hate saying that and rarely do, but in this instance it is the absolute truth.
I was scared to try CrossFit back in September 2013. I had butterflies in my stomach before my first workout. But the feeling I had when I completed something that I never thought I could do was addictive. I kept going back day after day. After a few short weeks I could see and feel results and I felt stronger.
I have lost 35 lbs since starting CrossFit and I am immeasurably stronger and more confident. There is still so much I have to learn and work on but the journey is the best part!0 -
Im on my 4th week of CrossFit and can honestly say I LOVE it. Its challenging and fun, learning Oly lifts is great and the community is second to none with support. I've never experienced anything like it before and look forward to it everyday.0

I had a history of just pumping sets at the gym, which is great, but for me it was boring and I had a hard time challenging myself and didn't look forward to going.
I started CrossFit last September. I went in for my first WOD and thought I was in shape, but it kicked my butt! I had to scale the workout since I was a beginner and it was tough, and I was breathing heavily in a pile of sweat on the floor at the end...which is how I end most of my workouts. But at the same time, although sometimes I'm glad it's over, I always feel accomplished and a bit like a badass... I mean, I just did a ton of work! That got me hooked. I love being challenged every day.
I love it because it is always different, and the workouts are pretty short, they can range from 5-30 minutes...but I found for me I saw a lot more results from a 10 minute WOD than I did when I'd spend two hours at the gym. And the CrossFit community is great!
I'd research the boxes in your area and drop in on a few of them. Make sure the coach focuses on teaching you good form and pays attention. Every workout can be scaled, so don't be afraid to ask the coach for a scaled workout if you can't perform the prescribed exercise safely. Drink plenty of water and leave your ego at the door and you should be safe! And be prepared to sweat!0 -

Same thing with me, I lift weights and do some cardio. I want to try something new.
I've been working out for so long, and I think I'm strong, but still can't do ONE pull-up.
Hope CrossFit could fix that.0 -

If you go into the right way, it will be great. Crossfit is a sport, not a workout. It's not a progressive workout like a traditional weight system would be if you look at most systems of lifting. Crossfit is the sport of fitness. It's not fitness by itself. I'm not making this up. They agree, which is why they have the crossfit games and all that. It's like playing football or soccer. So, if you just think of it that way, rather than as a workout, I think you'll have great success with it. it's fun as hell.
I was going to post almost this exact same thing...
I gave crossfit a try when I was first starting out and found that it wasn't for me personally...it reminded me too much of my days in the military and how we trained and I've already been there and done that...no need to relive. It's a great way to get into shape/stay in shape though and I have a number of friends who love it (in almost a scary religious way...but then again, I love my bike in an almost scary religious way).
No harm in giving it a whirl...it is likely that you'll either love it or leave it. Make sure you're at a good box with good coaches...if classes seem too large and unmanageable for the number of coaches working the session then you might want to find another box.0 -
