THE SECRET TO MY SUCCESS & THE REASON FOR MY SET-BACKS

I had an epiphany last night... I figured out how I've managed to get 16.5 weeks into this weight-loss/lifestyle change without too many set backs.
I do well when I stop feeling sorry for myself. Can the self pity! None of this 'Ohhh its too hard' or 'Ohhh I hate that I'm so fat' or 'Poor me!' Every time I've stopped to feel sorry for myself during the past 16.5 weeks I've had set backs & I've regretted it. I have to keep remembering that I dug this hole so I can get out of it; no matter how long it takes!
I'm getting there. I have had some set backs & I probably will have more at some point but when I do find myself starting to slip I just need to remember to pick myself back up again. My partner said something to me that really hit home the other day... I was a bit disappointed that I hadn't quite lost as much weight as I would have liked to over the allotted timeframe & he said 'Why are you unhappy with 80% of the result? You wouldn't drop out of University if you were getting 80% in your exams would you?' at that point I sheepishly said 'No, of course I wouldn't. I would be rapt with 80% marks'. So there it is. Even if its not as much as Id like I'm still moving forward in the right direction & that's what counts isn't it.
16.5 weeks down. I started at 124kgs & now I'm 110.2kgs! 13.8kgs (30.4pounds) gone!! Many more to go but I'm so happy with my 80%!!
JUST KEEP GOING!!!

Hell yeah!
One thing I learned is nobody likes people who feel sorry for themselves (even if they have good reason).0 -
You have made INCREDIBLE progress!
I think most of us start off with some pretty agressive plans when it comes to what we want to accomplish fitness wise. If you are properly motivated to begin with, you usually have newbie gains (or in your case losses). But after our body starts figuring out that you are trying to change it, it will put up some pretty staunch defense, as it HATES changes. So naturally, progress slows down...and when it does....bam...motivation starts to drop.
What we have to remember is we have come so far..and even if we simply move an inch forward with our goals, we move forward.
Keep it up and knock it out!

I guess I'm a bit 'lucky' at the moment that the weight is coming off relatively easily seeing as I have so much to lose. I'm sure the last 10kgs will give me a run for my money. I'm sure by that stage I will be right into my fitness regime though so hopefully I will smash it!0 -
Over 30 pounds in 16 WEEKS???!!! I'd be DELERIOUSLY happy! To be able to lose an average of 8 pounds a month is HIGHLY successful! Most only achieve 4 at best!0

Thank you!
I'm quite dramatically over weight at the moment so its easier to lose large amounts when you have large amounts of excess. I would like to lose at least 44-49kgs (97-108pounds). I exercise 6 days a week & try my hardest to stick to 1200cals (5024kjs) every day. I allow a bit of a blow out once every 3 weeks & I eat my little heart out too but I get straight back on the wagon once that meal has been consumed. Helps keep me sane!0 -
You said a mouthful. I have to keep mixing up my diet and my workouts to just keep on track with small accomplishments. I am passed the point of thinking I can't, which is good. I know I can, I just have to figure out the right combinations.
