Q? How do you encourage someone when they give up?

Particularly when they say that they aren't getting enough support in their journey?

I think the responsibility for losing weight and getting more fit has to be on the person. I do think you can be supportive and offer help here and there but I do not think what you say will really make a difference.

People have to be committed and ready to do it for themselves.

    1. Lead by example, I get alot out of having active friends who are always posting about their workouts and food choices but are also realistic people and don't set these crazy high standards
    2. Ask them what got them down and try to help. Take a general interest to let them know someone is on their side. Probably take it easy on the critique for now since they are obviously frustrated but reply to their posts or look at their diary and make comments "man I love oreos too!" or something
    3. Sometimes you are not the perfect person to motivate them (I am sure you are wonderful and all but maybe you just don't have enough in common) but you can still help and point them in the right direction "hey I know there is a group for people who (insert blank)" maybe they just need friends they can relate to better
