Anyone play guitar?

I do, just for fun. Mostly old hair band stuff. lol0

Playing in cover bands I learn (in my head) the guitar parts to know my counts and cues0

Does air guitar count?

yes. I play in a duo. I mainly play rhythm stuff on an acoustic and sing, while my friend plays acoustic and electric and will play riffs, fills and leads.0

I own a guitar (Well, Two actually).. Does that count?
Cant play them to save my life :sad:0 -
One of my motivations is to look good on stage haha! I play in my school pit band for the show choir, I plan to go on to be a music teacher! Music is such a therapy and I'm now using it to heal my emotional instabilities instead of resulting to food :happy:0

Just harp here.... but since I never find other harp players, can I hang out with you guys?0

I've always wanted to played harp! I'm a gamer and zelda being one of my favorites it's always been a dream to play Fairy Fountain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHiYTYkqWCE) but harps are so damn expensive, aren't they? :ohwell:0

Yep. They really really are.... but you can rent them for a reasonable amount if you want to try it out!0
-
I'm learning. I've got an Art & Lutherie acoustic and a Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet that I lurrrrrrrve!0

I've been playing for about six years, but I think my natural talent is gonna be rhythm guitar, because I like singing more than playing and I can't finger pick to save my life. My favorite brand is Washburn, but I started on Taylor. Acoustic is my preference, but eventually I'd like to learn electric - I feel like I've gotta figure out the finger picking thing first, though.0

I've been learning bass for about a year.0

I play guitar. I have been playing for a long time, 24 years...I have too many guitars, and I can't seem to have the heart to sell any of them. I write and record music as well.0

The only thing about those little itty bitty harps is that each string is all you get, notewise. Unless it has sharping levers and then you'll get the sharps of each string too. So at most, you've got an octave and a half with twelve strings. It's not like guitar where you can play different notes off of the same string - it's more like a piano.0 -
True, id probably have to stick to a C Major/A Minor, but it's better than nothing to get me started haha0

I take lessons, but not every good. I just wanted to learn just for the heck of it. My husband can figure out how to play a song just by messing around with a guitar till it sounds right. He plays piano by ear as well and drums.0

I play! Acoustic driven music is my absolute fave. I learned from watching and listening to my dad, who played guitar and harmonica for as long as I can remember. I took a few lessons as well, but mainly picked it up by ear. I also play piano...just havent practiced in a while!0

Yip!0

Ahah, I don't think I really count as "playing," yet. I just picked it up a month ago. It is my summer ambition to get to a place where I can play a couple songs, though! I really enjoy it, even if I can't fully play anything yet, it's really therapeutic to just strum and work on some mellow chords!0

Oh Haiii :drinker: Mostly acoustic covers. I am a terrible player and singer, but it makes me happy0
-
I play acoustic. Recently, I've decided to work on fingerstyle. If you're interested, look up Michael Chapdelaine on YouTube. I'm awed by his talent!0

I've been playing off and on for about 14 years, now. I was in a couple bands, but none of them really took off. I've been wanting to start up a cover band lately because it seems that no one really wants a Metal band with new material, anymore. Case in point, I once got kicked out of a gig at a place called "The Guitar Bar". The owner let us play for free drinks, but his daughter didn't like our music.
I wanted to hit it big, but I guess that was the dying dream of a 21 year old kid. Now I've got a degree teaching English, but I still wish my music had taken off. Ah well.
tl;dr: Yep.0 -
wow, it's cool there are musicians here
i've played acoustic guitar for over 40 years, more fingerstyle than strumming. i also play electric bass (prefer punk and metal, but just about anything, really), a little keyboard, and i played electric drums for a time. used to play in a few bands, and actually met my husband advertising for musicians to play with0 -
l've been playing since l was 14. l currently own 2 classicals and a 12-string. l used to have an electric and a sitar but sold those. My main focus is classical guitar and composition, but l used to be a "singer/songwriter" which meant just a normal teen. lol!! Connect with me if you want! Let the music rule...0

you don't mention if you're taking lessons or not. if you're not - or maybe even if you are - have you tried justinguitar.com ? a lot of beginners i know seem very happy with his lessons, and they seem clear and interesting, and you can go at your own pace.I bought a guitar a few months ago and I'm learning but it's going so slowly which is really frustrating! Awesome, thanks guys! I'm feeling the pain though! My left hand and wrist definitely hate me right now. I was taking lessons off a friend for a little while but he's too busy now. He was also free, which is a shame....
I haven't been overly impressed with the internet so far, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I'll check out your suggestions though. Thanks for the tips!0
