What do you do when you have eatin all your daily calories (before 7pm) and you start getting hungry? Not the munchies, no, actually tummy hungry.
Also, my hubby and I are going on a last min trip to FL to visit with family (grandma sick) and we went out to get food for the road (road munchies) and I know my family will cook for us and wanna go out alot and I'm worried about what I'm going to do.

I suggest a cooler and pack itmes you normally eat that are healthier choices. Drink lots of water to fill in that urge to "snack" on the road. I get a huge bag of Twizzlers, that helps Also when eating out around family, just stare at the menu and choose the "healthy" options. Most restaurants have that on their menus. You can ask for no sauce or on the side, fat free fressings for salads, stay away from that bread they serve before the meal...things like that will help you decide and stay on your goals! Its not easy, i just came back from a 12 hr drive with my 3 little ones this week and with the strength of God, I still managed to lose 4 lbs while i was gone! Brought my workout dvds with me and packed salads for the trip. Brought some groceries from home. Sounds crazy and alot but I managed it with 3 children under 8 yrs old!!! You can do this. Just remember "good choices". You can have a fat day, I do once a week and still lose. Your body needs a shift so it gets confused or it will plateau. You seem to be doing great so keep up the good work! Enjoy family time and I hope your grandma feels better soon!0

If I've eaten all my calories I opt for fruit or a vegetable. Or I make a cup of this really awesome tea from David's Tea called Forever Nuts. It tastes like it should be chock-full of calories and its got none. Tricks my mind and i love it0

there are lots of calorie free teas out there that do not taste calorie free at all! they taste like dessert!
and for a road trip you can pack your own snacks.....as far as going out to eat while on vacation....i say dont worry about it. vacation is supposed to be OFF TIME! fun time, rest time (yes EVEN with a sick, relative. that shouldnt let you make it not a nice time with family). just try and limit your portions and if you go over a day or two while there, dont sweat it. because remember...there's always when you come back to work all those calories off!
enjoy your family and try and eat as light as you can. just stressing over it will make it no fun for you or anyone else.
enjoy your family, hope your grandma gets better, and good luck with those hungries!0 -
My family (hubby, me and 4 kids ages 4-9) just went on a 10 day vacay and we spent 2 days travelling there, and 2 more travelling back. I tried to eat a low-cal but fillinf breaky like oatmeal. Then I made sure I had packed fruits and veggies, cuz I'm cheap and I won't spend on "munchies" if there is food in the car. I even packed the kids "healthier" snacks. As in no chips, ect so I couldn't snag theirs. I also brought sandwich supplies so we wouldn't have to eat out for that meal.
I am a terrible traveller when it comes to munchies. But I found if I drank all my water, had some crystal light or a fuze drink for a change it wasn't as hard.
We camped for the week and I made pancakes or cereal or eggs for most breakys, then we made sure to have either lunch or supper at the campground and only go out for one meal a day. I tried to buy single items, not combos if we went fast food and I logged my food the whole trip. There were days I went over, but we were walking alot (the zoo, ect) and so it almosted evened out. :P I gained 3 or 4 pounds, but it came right off and I have a feeling it was water weight from 2 days of sitting in the car on the way home.
I tried not to worry about it, but just make healthier choices. I was there to enjoy myslef with my family, but keeping in mind I can't enjoy my family if I don't look after myself.0
