hi all...well, after a few days of doing a little better..weight is 184.2. down 4.8 in water surely. sometimes when I think of where I want to be weight wise, I get frustrated. I really think if I focus more on just making small changes, that alone will eventually get me where I want to be......who knows when. If I am forever 180 lbs and eating healthier and exercising regularly..I guess that matters more than the way I used to be. :ohwell:

Jacque ~ 2 lbs could be a lot of things. you have been exercising very well, cardio and resistance. could be your muscles are holding fluid today. did you drink enough water each day? how was your sodium intake? all of these are factors. Look at all the positive things you did!! do your clothes feel loser? how bout *you* in general? you must feel some sense of pride for all that you did this week in making health a priority!! I am very proud of you! your activity motivated ME this week!! don't let that 2 lbs ruin all the good you have done...take those 2 lbs and show em who's really boss! I know you can do this!!

Barb ~ so you celebrated your birthday...it's one day my friend. and the candy goblins are stalking all of us here recently. I have no doubt you will be back down in a few days and by next week. sugar and salt LOVE the scale...but they are our enemies!!

maybe we should have a mini challenge this weekend?? extra water.....try to halve your sugar intake? weekends are tough, but we can do this! let's be in control and plan!

ok, gonna vacuum now. friend will be here soon. have a good day ladies. stay positive and put on that smile!! love you all! ((hugs)) to my pepperettes!

I'm actually ok w/what the wii fit said about my weight. Remember a few weeks ago I didn't think I lost 8+lbs in one week. So I don't believe I gained 9+lbs in one week. Maybe in the last week of pregnancy if I was carrying triplets or more.......
Taking the reading w/a grain of salt.....

My Natalie made another cake for Dave's bday on Sunday. It's on fb.... It's a frankenstein. This little lady wants to work for Buddy of Cake Boss (Carlo's Bakery). Momma can't help but encourage her dreams.........

On the bright side of today.... I got contacts. First time I've worn in about 6 years.

    Happy weekend to all.

happy Saturday afternoon ladies....so last night we ordered pizza...Casey's Meat Galore. I had 1 small piece then a smaller piece of dessert pizza. felt ok, and enjoyed it...unlike my youngest who ate so much of both he was miserable soon after.

been outside for about 4 or so hrs doing leaves. blowing them, raking and hauling to our town's lagoon. think we took 6 pickup loads and we still have 2 trees with leaves to fall. it is so, so nice out. now I am gonna go plant some bulbs and move a few things around the yard. hope to be done by football time!! Go Hawks!!

Barb ~ that's great that your daughter loves cake making/decorating! follow your dreams! what a fun career that would be!

hi to everyone else and hope you're all doing fine.

got everything planted today. actually was outside for about 5 hours. still need to do A LOT of work in my main flower bed...but have until the ground freezes OR the snow falls...whichever comes first! moving some limestone and constructing a 16' wall, about 3 1/2' tall. the limestone was here when my grandparents built this house. we purchased the screen/fencing/lattice (whatever) this spring.....hmmm, some projects just wait and wait...

anyway, it was a pretty good day. I gave into some of the left over trick or treat candy...4 fun size bars. I logged it all and still had a little over 600 left. hoping my spirits stay up! I don't know..could be a nasty pms week. :ohwell:

tomorrow starts a NEW month! let's put some real, serious effort into the next 30 days!!

hope you all had a nice weekend! see you in the am. :flowerforyou:

Happy November all... just think in a few short weeks, it's Thanksgiving.....

And this year my kids are with me for Thanksgiving.... that means deli hoagies and out to the movies. Just like last year.
My kids don't appreciate the "big" meal thus I have no desire to cook it..... Why put forth all that effort when the family doesn't want it. And I haven't broken any laws by NOT SERVING turkey. It's OK to be DIFFERENT!

Kelly - it's great to hear you're working in your yard. Mine needs soo much help... ... someday... when I don't have as much kid activity. I agree some household improvement projects will just have to wait...... (in my case wait and wait and wait and wait).

Hubby going to a cardiologist today. He's been undergoing more and more medical testing... some MS related... today's is sleep apena related. All this testing is getting him one step closer to being retired (aka a stay at home Dad). It's bittersweet. One hand I want him home for the kids the other hand wants him healthy.
  • Hi all!!

jacque....i saw your party pics! HOW FUN! glad ds is ok....kids and their activities....so very scary!! I would love to have a turkey day challenge. for me personally it would be the vegetarian meal a day. I am usually low on my veggies, so this would be a way to increase that. I'm not normally a soda drinker, but with my upcoming MOA trip, a soda may cross my lips...however, if that's the challenge, I will abide my friends. and the 15 min added...that's a good one too! anything....want to keep my motivation going here. I would like to be down 8 lbs by Dec 1.

outside again today. a cool, but sunny 53* here. will check in later....gotta go haul kiddos.

    Hi all
Just checking in before I do the fish bowls, shower & bed.

Hubby came home w/a heart monitior... Needless to say he's not happy. He needs to wear that tonight as well as the cpac for sleep apena...... Not going to be a good night for him (possible me....)

He spendt the evening on couch.... And the fb pic has him w/his bird. Lady Grey is his new buddy.

Thanks Jacque for the prayers. I do appreciate it.
  • Ok so Kelly and I narrowed it down to 2 challages for November. So lets vote today and get started. Add 15 mins to your walk or exercise of choice or one veggi meal a day. this is probabllt a hard one for some ie me. But Ms Vita it would be easy. Let also keep up with our walking to a friend. I know myself need to work harder on that too.
    Check in later

    Morning Pepper's,
Those two challanges are good for me. I was really sore yesterday did not walk. Today I will walk no matter what.

    confession,
I did not exercise at all on sat. but did yard on Sunday. I ate Halloween candy both days, Sat it made me sick but did not stop me from eating it on Sunday.:grumble: cant say yesterday was good at all.

New day, fresh start, hope I did not kill any loss for this week, but I do expect a gain with my monthly on its way.

Kelly I wish I was as good as you were of course they got my favorite candy and we had only 8 kids :grumble:

Barb hope yuu DH is ok will send some prayers for him.

Jacque I need to refocus too.

Today will drink my water (hot water, yuk). Monday is the big dentist day have to get a cleaning at 12:30 and 3:30 is the other appointment to check my gums and finally get some answers and maybe be out of pain. This stress is really affecting my eating habits, I just wat something cold. we are having a big dinner for Thanksgiving so I really got to shape up so I can eat it as well as cook it.

    Will check back later.

Sindy -- I had 3 individual Reeses peanut butter cups yesterday and so far 1 today. I didn't exercise Saturday or Sunday either. Or Friday....
Wishing you a pain free day soon, very soon.

So ladies..... here's the thing.... there's 2 cakes in my house... daughter's girl scout bag of gummy body parts cake and hubby's frankenstein bday. Of the two, I'm prefer the body parts (it's a pound cake). I ate a slice of that. Didn't cut up Frankenstein even more. What made me disappointed. Hubby ate pieces of each. Urggghhhhh.... Usually, I don't have cake in the house... so it's an unique thing to have 2.

I could do 1 veggie meal a day. Breakfast usually is meat free. Today was a bagel. Didn't bring a lunch from home. That means I need to get something from the cafe. Navy bean is the soup of the day.
  • Just did a 15 min brisk walk on my break. Need to do a qhole lot more been eating like a pig today. All good stuff but just too much

was working on a post...and zap...it was gone!:grumble: had a so-so day... had meet ups with blueberry muffins & semi-sweet choc chips:ohwell: made stir fry for supper. will be under water a little. hopefully the next 2 days I can find my way back and make some improvements.

Jacque ~ I will do the veggie meal. I really need to get my walking going....I can't wait to see you!!

Cindy ~ I think we had 15 here..what a joke! all of our candy is gone, but we only had maybe 8 fun size left. monthly visitor is here now. you're doing much better than I would be with your pain....hope you get relief at your next appt. feel bad this is happening to you:cry:

Barb ~ .lol, gummy body parts! yum I love soups too...my 2 fav's are tomato and wild rice.

still doing yard work. tomorrow is another early out. have a great evening ladies. g'nite.

Thanks. I do appreciate it. You may have seen past posts regarding hubby's health issues. It's not getting better and more "wrong" things are being found at the different specialists. One day at a time, one day at a time. Overall, I'm an emotional mess - depending on the moment is what emotion you'll see on my face.

This morning driving into work I heard Carole King's "You Make Me Feel (Like a Natural Woman)" and I burst into tears. I could have turned the CD off - instead I turned the volume up. I've heard this song many many times and have not had that reaction before.

Bottom line - I need to cherish the days with him.
  • Good morning all
At this moment fighting the want of a bagel, so sad I know
Barb-will keep praying for both of you all. I know how hard it is. I am doing the same thing with my sister. She been having to many issues too. remember the night I had to go get my daughter. Well my sis got so upset that her heart stoped and thank god for the pacemaker but she still fell out and from what i hear she been doing this more then she should. Its really scarey!! Then I heard about this young guy that had the same problem as my sis just went outside to do an errand and died.I been crying on and off about it for days. So I decided exactly what u said cherish the moments. She still a pain in the butt! and drives me loco at time but I am on week 2 with not fighting with her and been trying to do stuff to ease her stress. So my heart goes out to you both!

morning folks....hope you all have a good day. still working outside while the weather cooperates. watching my sugar and sodium today after yesterday. have logged all my food, so if I follow that, calories will be good.

I have never met you ladies, but it saddens me to hear of the challenges that affect our loved ones, and us as well. we just never know. life can change in a second. so many things we have no control over. agreed, cherish all the blessings that are with us each and every day. I know each of us have had many lows in life....and in each of you I see so much strength. I know myself, especially the support I get here, gives me power to believe in myself and some how manage to get thru a meal, a day, etc. You ALL raise me up. So much to be thankful for, right here. Each of us are unique and I am thrilled of the bond we have created and friendships made. MFP has been a wonderful experience and a blessing, even if I am still trying to lose wt. I don't know what the chances are for some of us ever meeting up, but I hope you all know how dear you are to me and that you are always with me, and I with you. I truly want the best for you all.... and that courage and strength smother you when life gets unreal.

Barb ~ hang in there....one day at a time. You are an amazing wife, mom, employee and friend. I know you will make the best of each and every day. Your love for Dave is pure....and he knows that. Let your emotions flow. All that you are feeling is surely normal. prayers and (((hugs))) love you.

Barb I have been praying for you and your family. I always say one day at a time and try to live those words. Hang in there. :flowerforyou:

Jacque bagels are not bad its what you put on it  But I hear you I can have a bunch of things for the same amount of calories. English muffins are not too bad in calories.

Kelly I have one big tree and it has a lot of leaves, I already filled 15 lawn bags full and still more falling :noway: more exercise this week end :drinker:

Well going for my walk will do the hilly one again today, it does not give me an extra 15 mins, only like 8-10, but I like it.

    Will check back later:bigsmile:

Hello again.... came back to log in my lunch....

Miss V -- yuck.... I'm sure you're not happy being a regular in the ER/Urgent care. Here's to the right meds to get them gone.
    Did hubby deploy yet?

Thanks all for the comforting words. It's much appreciated. And I value this friendship.

His medical may not be affecting him emotionally as me cuz all the texts I'm getting today from him is about our dinner - what are we having - could it be this - when is dinner - etc etc... Obviously, we're both thinking food but my thoughts are calorie content & how much exercise to "burn" off. His thoughts are what are we eating for dinner.

FYI - dinner is probably tuna fish sandwiches since I haven't gone grocery shopping. And he's content (actually kinda excited) over this simple meal.

His Army buddy is coming over tonight as well. So there's an overnight house guest sleeping on my couch. I'm hoping this friend comes over AFTER dinner. His buddy will leave our house in the morning to head to his military unit. Last time his buddy was over, I ended up having 4 guys in my purple car out for lunch the next day.....

At work, the morning has been productive... let's see if the afternoon is....

Missvita, sorry you have had them for a while. I will pray they find the right cure and make it speedy. Hang in there my friend.

Barb I cant say anything about weight to either one of my guys. they will take care of it. In the mean time I worry to myself. Kind of funny I am the one calling him and asking whats for dinner  more so I can log before I leave work or so I know about how many calories I need to eat it.

Kelly, we will get to meet some time, Barb and I already met. Freinds talk almost everyday, we all do that daily sometimes more than once a day. I love all my Pepper freinds and want to meet each and everyone of you. I know I will be there if you need anything.

    my Pepper's.

Well back to work, check back later.

Jacque - that's great news about your daughter! I wish her much success.

It's raining today -- the type of weather that makes me want to stay home & read.
I had heard a lot of people talk about the Twiligt saga books & movies. I have seen the first two movies. Liked the first movie, so-so on the second movie.

Well, at a used bookstore, I was able to purchase all 4 books in the saga. I wanted to have all the books before I started so as soon as I finished reading one book I could move immediately to the next one. If I didn't like the books, I still would not wasted money because the Twilight saga is on the 7/8th grade at home reading lists. My daughters could have ( or will be able to) use them.

Last night, finished reading Twilight. LOVED IT.
