Sore heel after running

Hi all,
I have been running for about a year now. I have ran multiple 5k's. The other day, after I finished running I noticed my heel was a bit sore. The pain increased and the next morning I could hardly put pressure on my foot. I stretched it out a bit and I was good. I ran another 4 miles on Wednesday and again my heel is very sore. I'm not sure what could be causing this pain. I haven't changed shoes recently that would cause this sudden onset of heel pain.
Any ideas for relief? I'm not specifically training for anything at the time being, but do plan on running a 5k this summer and hopefully a half sometime this year.
Thanks

sounds like something I suffered from - planatar facitis - (spelling may not be quite right). See your doctor and its easy to resolve usually.0

Could be time to replace your shoes, bursitis, plantar fasciatis (?spelling?), stress fracture in your foot. Try resting. How many miles on your shoes? I wouldn't run if running causes the pain to get worse.0

I agree. This is most likely plantar fasciitis.

Pain that starts as heel pain. Pain that is worse with the first steps in the morning. Those are well known signs of plantar fasciitis.
Get supportive insoles for your shoes -- Spenco or Superfeet. Superfeet are better, especially for running/athletic shoes.
And, do this stretch: https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/ortho/foot-ankle/_documents/plantarfasciitisteachingsheet.pdf0
