I have so lost my motivation and am getting very frustrated. Why does this have to be so hard:( This is the longest I have ever stuck with a life style change but have hit a huge bump in the road and just can't seem to get over it!

You can do it!! You just have to keep pushing on. Think of where you will be in 6 months if you give up now and where you will be if you keep pushing on.
Good luck!0 -
Firstly remember how well you have done already losing 18lbs. That doesn't happen over night so you know you have the staying power to achieve weight loss. Next is remember your goals. Why did you start out on this journey in the first place? What encouraged you/motivated you to get started? Just take one day at a time, log your food, drink tons of water, exercise as much as possible and get a good group of friends on here who will encourage you. Feel free to add me. The rest will come on it's own. You have to allow yourself a little time when the bump in the road is an obstacle but now get ready to jump over it and carry on your journey!0

I have to remind myself every morning about how much I want this and how I will look and feel so much better when I an through it. You said it - this is a lifestyle change. While we will get a few more calories, on maintenance, we will need to keep this healthy eating and exercise FOREVER! I have to remind myself of THAT as well! I will never be "done".0

weight loss is a marathon not a sprint... just move along do what feels right and u will be ok. sometimes u just got to do it without thinking the more u think the worse it seems. So just keep on truking

Can you pinpoint what's got you down right now? Is it that you're tired of exercising all the time, or you're bored with what you're eating? Or just general yuckiness?0

Maybe you should sit down and redo your profile
Why I Want To Get In Shape
To feel better about myself and so I don't lose my breath walking up the stairs or up hills.
My Inspirations
My friends and family helping me on the journey!
Go back to these - are they still the same? Were they just something that you tossed in there so it wasn't blank?
Why are you here? What do you want to accomplish?
Maybe try setting some goals that you would like to accomplish. Set rewards for yourself once you've reached them.
Just some suggestions.

Stop thinking, eating and working out like a fat person. Change your mind set and try and feel and think like a thin person. It takes a while but if you can just feel it for one day, it will help you be whom you want to be.0

YOU CAN DO IT!
When it feels like work, I incorporate more fun! Try a new fun activity (like attending open ice skating or open roller skating with your girlfriends) and spice up your food (something as simple as changing the protein on your salad or trying a new salad dressing can make a HUGE difference).
We're all here for you and in this together

When I first started, I made a video of myself on my phone that was private, just for me. It's "past" me talking to "future" me. Whenever I get that losing motivation feeling, I watch the video and am reminded that I do not want to go back to where I was. I don't want to give up all the hard work. If you don't have a video, make one! :-) Look at some old pictures and just remember. Remember why you wanted to get healthy in the first place. Remember things that have been difficult for you to do. For me, it is fitting into chairs. I hate the feeling that whenever I am going someplace, I might not fit in the chairs. Just an example. That is one of my reasons. Try to remember yours. Good luck! Don't give up!!0

Just do it!
Your goal is to be healthier.
Develop habits that keep you on track when you lack motivation.
Be accountable.
Dont be fixated on weight. Weight is only one aspect of fitness, but it is the easiest to measure.
Pay attention to how you feel. Has your endurance increased? Are you stronger? Are you losing inches? Do you feel healthier?0 -

I wonder if there are any great movies about people who have lost weight? Or just a motivational movie in general, to help you re-energize, re-evaluate and get back on track.
I agree with a previous poster, get a fitness magazine. Or even one of the Biggest Loser books where they tell their success stories and tips and such. There are many great motivational reads out there :-

I know its hard Ive been there many times. You have to remember one thing. If it's truly a lifestyle change than little bumps along the way don't matter. You just pick yourself up and keep going because you're living this now. Its not a fad or bandaid. This is who you are now. Live it! Take control of what is yours and make it work for you!
I have come to this place so many times before. Sometimes it has taken me to very low places. I even said to myself once after having lost 58 lbs that I was done. I didn't want to be healthy anymore it was easier to just stop exercising and go back to eating what I want when I want. But easier isn't what makes you successful and easier isn't what I agreed to when I told myself that I was NEVER going to ever weigh 300Lbs ! Easier is only going to make those who you may unknowingly be inspiring, just give up.
Now is your time to double down and push through this harder. When you start to doubt yourself that's when you need to prove that this is what you want.
Now is the time for you to Recommit, Refocus, & Recharge. Go Get motivated!0 -
I just posted about this on my blog:

Thank you everyone for the great post and ideas! I am going to rethink my goals and why I am doing this. I have a great group of friends who are in the journey so that is a huge part that has kept me going with this. Now I just need to refocus.0

I lost my motivation a few days ago but started up again last night. I just keep trying to think that baby steps lead to the end goal. Happy losing!0
