Help! Only doing cardio

At the moment I'm only doing an hour of cardio everyday. I have a healthy BMI and am happy with my body apart from my stomach/hips. I have a ridiculous amount of excess fat around my middle section. I know I need to start strength/weight training in order to help with this but I have no idea how to start or in what way to incorporate this into my routine. Does anyone have any advice?
