June Walking Challenge

Options
I just saw a May walking challenge and since we're almost at the end of the month I wanted to start a challenge for June. This way we can mark down the time and/or distance we walk and be accountable.

My goal is to walk 30 miles in June.

Good luck!

That should be very attainable! Get a pedometer if you don't already have one. You may be surprised at the distance you cover. I made 10 miles today alone.

everyone is welcome to join! My goal of 30 miles is above and beyond the regular day to day walking I do for work or pleasure. This is 30 miles of walking with the sole purpose of exercise! I got my feet wet today and did 1.62 miles before work. It won't count towards my 30 for June, but getting a start.

I'm in again for June. I passed my 40 mile goal in May by 6 miles so I'm going to up my goal for June to 50 :)

I'll join in, too. I loved walking with my coworkers after work, but right now it's summer break. Plus, it strengthens my lungs, which is helpful for an asthmatic musician.

Let's do 30 miles for me, also. I did 1.51 miles today very comfortably, so I think I need to push it a bit.

I figured I would update every few days, so I didn't spam this thread.

    6/3 - 1.51
6/4 - 2.57 (I walked 1.56 in the morning, then my mom wanted to walk in the evening, so I walked another 1.01)
    6/5 - 1.84
    6/6 - 2.96 (1.96 in the morning, and 1.00 in the evening)
6/7 - n/a (developed painful blisters from new shoes)
    6/8 - 1.64

    Total so far - 10.52/30

I think it's easier to walk more now that I'm on summer break (I'm a middle school teacher), because it took A LOT of motivation for me to walk 4 miles a week during the previous few months. 12 hours of teaching/planning/commuting each day took a bit of energy.
