Do you Get your friends involved to keep you motivated?

I'm dreading winter....There's something about working out and then walking to your car in the cold that makes me want to grab my slippers, some popcorn and m & m's and sit on my couch to watch the boob tube.,
Not this year! I wanted to find a way to motivate myself and my friends. So I have gotten a group of 7 couples together to run our first 10k:) I should mention none of us are runners. I picked a 10k that is at the end of April. (plenty of time to get in shape) This way I have something to focus on all winter, bonus:tongue: .
Now I don't know about you, but just being able to say I ran a 10k isn't enough of a reward to keep me going to the gym, did I mention I hate running:grumble: ???? So I found a Saturday morning race in a nearby city. We leave our kids with family or friends, race in the morning and spend the rest of Saturday and Saturday evening celebrating our couples weekend out:drinker: That's the reward I'm excited about!:bigsmile:

Have you ever found a way to get your friends involved in your fitness lifestyle??? I'd love to hear other stories and ideas. It's fun having your friends there for support and motivation!
