Ignorance was bliss...

Before I downloaded this app to my iPhone, I had absolutely no clue how many calories I was eating EVERYDAY! Now when I make plans to go out to dinner with friends or the BF, I check the restaurant's web-site first. I made the mistake of looking up some of the things I used to eat when going out, and some of the meals were 2000 cal!! for one meal! EVEN THE SALADS!!
I think that this is the reason that so many people are over weight. They think they are doing good because they didn't get desert, or because they got the salad instead of the sandwich, when they are still consuming so many more calories than they ever imagined!
I thought that counting my calories was going to be a pain and that I would just quit doing it, like every other diet plan I've tried. But I've kind of found it to be addicting, kind of like 'checking in' with apps like foursquare. hahaha Now that I started playing with the web site today, I can definitely see how this will help!
Thank you so much,
Margie

Yes, you'll find this site very addicting. The problem is now that you becoming educated, you will find frustrations around every corner. For instance, it's like impossible to eat out and now get tons of sodium (even "healthy" places like Subway frustrate me now).0

I watch everything I eat, and look up restaurants before I go so I know what I can eat. But a month or so ago, I went to the cheesecake factory with my son, unplanned, as a mini celebration of my new car, and never having been there, I got the
fettucine with sun dried tomatoes, lunch portion and thankfully only ate half, I went home and looked it up and found out it had 1832 calories in it! I was shocked, so I bet there are many people that have no clue how many calories are in what they are eating at restaurants, and the portions are so huge, it is ridiculous!0
