Struggling to eat at least 1000 kcal's a day

For the past few months I've eaten on average less then, 500 calories every day and lost about 3 stone In 2 and a half months but after hearing the risks I'm putting my body in I decided to try and eat more and lose slower but I am finding it difficult to eat much at all as I feel bloated after everything that I eat, is there any way to make my body feel acustomed to eating more or at least get rid of the sickness feelings that I'm getting?
(How ironic that I first put my body in danger from eating too much and now I'm in trouble from eating too little)

Every meal I eat is more than 1000 calories.
Don't know how you can do that mayne. I'd be dying.0 -
I used to have this.
I also didn't understand why I needed to eat if I wasn't hungry so would only eat 1/2 meals a day.
I now eat 5 small meals a day, so I don't get too full/bloated at the time but fill up on fruits and things that have a higher calorie content (bananas, pears, etc). although it's small portions, i'm getting more calories in and being healthy!0 -
Try higher calories foods. Use oils. Eat nuts. Try to eat a couple hundred calories every other hour. Instead of water drink something with calories like milk. Your body will adjust quickly.0

Have some ice cream.0

great advice from shiec92 and schelly81. I eat 6 meals a day for a total of around 800-900 calories due to gastric sleeve I had in feb. yesterday one of the meals my wife made for me was about 1/2 tablespoon (12 grams) each of almonds, sunflower kernels, macadamia nuts and a whole tablespoon of pumpkin seeds in the shell. totaled about 2.5 oz and packed in 277 calories. That amount of cals per ounce shouldn't make anyone feel full or bloated. Good luck.0

I took the freedom to look at your diet, and I'm sorry to say this but the foods you're eating look quite unhealthy to me. I didn't see even a vegetable. Do you eat your morning cereal without milk? Try adding some dairy (like milk, cheese and yogurt), if you're not lactose intolerant. Eat your veggies (raw, boiled, roasted), and swap your noodles with some rice or whole wheat pasta. Olive oil is a must for a person's diet. Swap junk food with healthy and nutritious foods. What about eggs?
Snack on nuts. They can be expensive but 10 almonds is better than 10 bags of crisps.
How about your bowel movements?
Even if you're on a low calorie diet, you have to eat healthy.0 -
Avocado (or guacamole) is a great way to get some extra calories and good fats in without making yourself feel nasty. If you ever drink coffee or tea, you can add a teaspoon of virgin (unrefined - a solid, not a liquid, at room temperature) coconut oil to it without really changing the flavor too much, and that's extra calories and good fats without your even noticing. Eat Greek yogurt with some fat as opposed to fat-free. Have a salad (which always makes me feel good) but use some full-fat dressing.
You'd be surprised how adding a few little things here and there in your diet can add up to a few hundred extra calories/day.
I'd agree with the above poster that your food choices look like they might make you feel nasty even aside from your issues with not being able to eat enough.0 -
Keep eating more. Trust me, your body will adapt eventually.0

Exercise usually increases the appetite.0

I looked at your diary also..
I see one day you ate 60g of shreddies and 100g of chips (not sure if you mean fries but will assume so)
Then the following days you are were up to about 1300..
then down to 2 servings of sugar puffs...
it goes up and down like that for days...
Are you trying to harm yourself? You are 21 years old, a guy and eating less than a toddler..and you are exercising on top of that...
Not trying to be mean but you need some help....seriously.
Not only do you need help with a potential eating disorder you need to go to a doctor and have a physical done.
Gaining weight does not mean you have to punish yourself...by starving yourself.
Out of the 26lbs you lost...I suspect have of it was muscle mass...yes that is right muscle mass...I see one day you got 7 grams of protien...
Let me say that again 7 grams of protien
Sugar puffs 60g, 400g beef broth, 1 slice of toast.0 -
old people who struggle to eat enough are given cheese and bisuits (with butter) and fortified milk ( take whole fat milk and add extra dried milk to it ( 1 table spoon per pint).
This is done on medical advice.
So get medical advice. please0 -
Eat more snacks and higher calorie foods.0
-
Go see a counselor.
And your doctor.0 -
Doooooooooooooooooooooooooood. You know that is like really bad for you right? And....I highly doubt you are NOT hungry eating that little. Seriously...see a therapist, a doctor, a trainer and a nutritionist...You need some serious help!0

You realize you have a problem and you're asking for help. That is a great step in the right direction. I suggest drink more calories to stimulate your appetite. Get your favorite flavored nutritional shake at the drug store, grocery store, or walmart. They taste good and and packed with vitamins and protein.
do that and take other suggestions like adding oils, avocado, peanut butter to your diet.0 -

If this is a troll post (which I believe it is, in my ill-informed opinion), you should try to be more creative. Even for a diet-centric site, this record gets played so often, it's lost its bite.
If this is a legitimate "cry for help," please don't use public forums seeking life-threatening medical advice.
That being said, I have a solution for you:
Twice daily, eat the following:
2 Pop-Tarts (I recommend peanut butter)
1 8oz glass of milk (real milk, not that hippie almond stuff, or the crap that makes men grow breasts)
Note: This works in the U.S., where Pop-Tarts are readily available. I assume they can be found all over the civilized world (and it wouldn't be very civilized without Pop-Tarts!), but if they're not sold in your locale, 1 Pop-Tart = slice of bread slathered with peanut butter.
Hope this helps!0 -
Hello,
You have done significant metabolic damage. You put your system in to much shock with such a defecit. This is a main reason why you are at a stump and plateau. Your metabolism sucks now.
This problem is fixable.
You must reintroduce calories very very slowly.. example.. week 1 1/2 600C
the next week, 100 Calories more..
This is how you are going to rev your metabolism back into a normal cycle. To have maximum potential of a good metabolism it is what you will have to do. Or your weight loss, or weight gain future isn't very promising.
I highly suggest and believe its a must for you to search "Layne Norton - Metabolic Damage" on youtube, it will change everything for you and give you life lasting insight! Do it now! GL

Op I'm really sorry but I agree with everyone else.
This was me. About 10 years ago when I was about your age.
I lost far too much weight. I was technically underweight. I looked ill, and probably was ill.
My body got covered in grotesque body hair because its the body's defence mechanism to keep warm when not receiving adequet nutrition.
The hair on my head fell out and has never returned.
I ended up depressed, on medication and in counselling.
I had no energy to do anything. It took over my life.
Please try to stop this right now, op. While you still can.0 -
