My husband refuses to eat

There are many people that only eat one or two times a day-- as long as his calories are in line, there is nothing to worry about0

I always feel bad for women whose husbands won't eat.0

Just my take, but if he's already 51 he may not want a kid at all and doesn't want to tell you, refusing to eat may be his way of rebelling. At his age the huge detrimental changes that come with a baby--fatigue, expense, lack of sleep, lack of wife's company as the baby is needy and takes up all her time, etc., these things can be terrifying.Or if other things are wrong, he may have brain changes due to diabetes, stroke, etc. He needs a thouraough medical checkup, now.0

I\m sorry if it's been discussed and I missed it - Is this once a day eating an occurrence that happened since OP became pregnant or behaviour that's been going on prior to the pregnancy? I think it's tough to really speculate and it's also not fair to either of the involved parents-to-be or their child. I just hope OP has a safe delivery and does what is healthy for herself and her child - if she has access to someone her husband can talk to about proper nutrition or he himself does, they many want to seek those resources. If her husband needs help, I hope he can be surrounded by a loving family that supports him.0

I think you may have more going on here than you imagine.
It sounds like your husband has issues with his life...not just food.
While you may food centric, and most of us on here look at life through food centric eyes, your husband may not.
HE likely has other issues on his mind---like a baby. His life changing, perhaps, and at such a late age.
Food/eating is probably just a by-product of his state of mind.
You may want to concentrate on getting to his real thinking, and not assume he looks at food and eating the way you do.0 -
I'm probably gonna get kicked in the mouth for this, but she took away his favorite foods, made him cook her recipes, took away his booze and now is mad that he won't eat anything
Sorry OP, but this made me LOL! :laugh:0 -
Is he eating at work? A good friend was concerned her husband was not eating much at home, but he didn't like the 'healthy' meals she was preparing. Turns out he'd stop for McDonald's before work, go out for a meal with his co-workers after, or eat in the break room at work rather than at home.0

he's 51 years old. and clearly he isn't dead.
If him not eating was that significant of a problem- he'd be dead.
So- he's fine. If he wants to change- he'll change and honestly there isn't a gorram thing you can do about it until he wants to change.
Congrats on the baby.0
