I am one of those who come here to lose weight and then pick up exercise, get addicted and begin to forget about the scale... I am really into running these days (started 3 months ago), and I love thinking about my training plan etc. It is a wonderful way to appreciate my body, my fuel/food and my ME time.

Although I am really content with my progress fitness-wise, what frustrates me is that I KNOW I have to take it slowly because otherwise I might get burned out or my family will hate my new hobby, or - that would be horrible! - I might get injured and not be able to run anymore. I have to build ot up slowly although I would love to run 6miles daily - my body would not appreciate that. I start feeling my right knee, not quite hurting but a little tight and I want to make wise choices.

I guess my motivation is just way ahead my fitness level :) So far I run 15+ miles/week which is great. Cannot wait to do more and faster though...

So would anyone like to tell me about how they got into running a year ago and what you are doing now? That way I could dream a little about what it will be like :glasses:

I'm in the same boat you are. I started running around the beginning of April and have not stopped until about a week ago when I hit a wall when I quit my job. But I am back in it!

Usually when I go, I like to do about 5k (3.1 miles) and usually just do walking/running intervals.
Surely, what we're doing (plus some strength training and flexibility training) will get us to 6 miles a day!!
