Scale Question

I think my scale might be busted. In the past 30 days I've lost 1.7 lbs, lost no inches, but the scale says lost 10 lbs in fat. Could this be right? Could I have really lost 10 pounds in fat, only 1.7 pounds total (which means gained muscle) but lost no inches? Help please

Get on your scales .. record your weight then pick up some things that you ACCURATELY know the weight of (a bag of sugar or a couple of litres of water for example).... Get back on the scales and record the 2nd figure .... Then take the 1st number from the 2nd ... does it come to the known weight of 'stuff'?
If so - you scales are working well enigh0
