Not sure if this is the right forum topic, but it seemed like the best fit to me.

So, last week in the middle of the week, I happened to be wearing ballet flats to work - something I don't normally do, I usually always were good quality tennis shoes, but was wearing a cute outfit and wanted cute shoes on. I happened to glance down and noticed a bump on the top outside of my right foot, I didn't think too much of it. The next day, I wore the same ballet flats and when I looked down I noticed it had gotten bigger and when I looked at my left foot I had what looked like a bruise in the same spot.

The third day, I made sure to go back to wearing tennis shoes, and wore even better quality ones than I normally wear.

Now, It has been 5 days or so, and the bump on my right foot as gotten bigger and is starting to hurt, and I have a bump on the left foot as well.

I've done some research online and believe I have Ganglion (sp) Cysts which are basically sacs of synovaial fluid and that they are often caused by some sort of trauma/injury. (If you are squeamish, like me, don't google for pictures.) Of course, I can't think of what I could have done to both feet in the same spot.

I was going to let them go, except they give me the creeps and I do want to wear cute shoes/sandals on occasion. But, now the one on my right foot has started to hurt.

In my research I found that they can be simply drained and then a cortisal shot given and that usually solves the problem -- although it may take several rounds.

Has anyone else every had these? Was the procedure painful. How long were you "laid up", unable to exercises, etc.? Did they come back?

I have an appointment scheduled for Wednesday morning. If the doctor (gp) can take care of them in the office right then and there I am going for it, but don't want to be laid up any longer than I have to be. I hit the gym to do cardio 3 - 5 days a week and heavy lifting 2 - 3 days a week. I also am supposed to do a 5k this weekend and next weekend. I also work on my feet -- I work at a shoe store, hence the good quality tennis shoes and cute flats/sandals.
