5k foam glow! Never done a 5k

Ok so I just had this realization that in 40 days my friends and I are doing the Foam Glow 5k in San Jose, there's 5 of us going and only 2 for sure have actually finished a 5k race before, I am not one of them. When I signed up for it I was thinking that I'd just walk it, I mean I'm a fast Walker but now I would really LOVE to be able to run at least part of it! I have no problem with the distance at all, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for getting into running, especially for bigger women. I'm currently at 245 lbs.

I run and cycle a lot and when I did the "Foam Fest" 5k there was a lot of down time waiting for others to navigate the obstacles. You shouldn't have a problem running from obstacle to obstacle because you will have time to recover between them.

I just started the c25k program today. It wasn't as bad as I figured it was going to be. Mind you it was still a challenge to get through. I wish you the best of luck. Let me know how you get a long, maybe we can provide support for each other
