Is this a good breakfast?

Recently I have been eating:
50g oats (made with water) and 1 scoop whey protein powder.

It comes to about 283 calories, is it a good start to the day?
Can I make it better?

Thanks in advance

It really depends on what else you are eating throughout the day and if this keeps you full until your next meal.

This. Without any context about the rest of your daily intake, asking about the quality of your breakfast is an unanswerable question...

if you like it and you eat plenty of other fats and protein through the day - then yes.

Well, it certainly isn't a bad start. The only bad start IMO is if you didn't eat anything. Listen to your body and does it fit into your cals & macros for the day? Then great. Ways to make it better? Add a handful of fresh fruit or something.

I think it's important to point out that skipping breakfast is not a problem. Breakfast won't affect metabolism or weight loss. It may affect a person's mood, hunger levels, gym performance, and concentration. It's okay to skip it if that's what works for you.

Though I'd agree that I would add some fruit to the oatmeal, just for the extra micros.

AJ is correct- while you are entitiled to your opinion- the fact is it isn't bad to skip breakfast- that's a rubbish myth perpetuated I'm sure by cereal people trying to make sure you eat your cereal.

I get up around 630/7 and I don't eat till 1 or two in the afternoon.
I lose and gain just the way I plan.

    its' fine.

You can eat whenever you want as long as you are eating in a manner that is sustainable to you.

I never said it was "bad" to skip breakfast. I just said, in my opinion, it is better to eat SOMETHING for breakfast to fuel your body after you have fasted all night than to eat nothing. I never said you wouldn't gain or lose the way you anticipated by not eating breakfast. All I said, was in my opinion [which is eating in a manner that is sustainable to me from experience with eating breakfast and not eating breakfast] that it is better to eat breakfast.

If it was me I'd some fruit or berries because I like the flavor of them with oatmeal. But as others have stated - it really depends on what the rest of your day looks like.
