I think my hmr is broke.

When I first started using it it was spot on, but lately it's been reading that I've only burned about 80 calories from an 1 1/2 hr bike ride. xD Not sure why but it still makes a good watch. :P

More than likely what's happening is that the chest strap isn't getting a good contact with your body. They say sweat is enough but I use electrode gel just to be sure.

It's pretty new though and doesn't use a chest strap. It monitors from the wrist.

And I'd imagine if it were the batteries it wouldn't tell time or keep any of the timers.

I think ones without a chest strap are notoriously inaccurate.

I like mine better since I got one with a chest strap. I got it on Amazon for under $30 and had to input all the normal stats, plus my V02max and Its pretty accurate.
I had the watch version before and you had to keep setting your thumb on it and half the time the read wouldn't display. This way is much easier to use. :)

I noticed sometimes my heart rate dropped to 90 when I was running...I had to adjust the chest strap a bit to make it go again...it's annoying but I have no idea why it happens...
