9K in october

I'm interested in doing a 9k in October but am not sure how to train for it. Currently doing the c25k podcast and will be hitting the weights at the gym maybe twice a week. Is there anything else I could/should be doing?

Crosstrain with another cardio. Hit the weights 1-2 times a week. Make sure you do your run workouts according to your plan. Don't screw up your diet. You'll be good to go. What's a 9k? I've heard of (and ran) 10ks, but what's a 9k?0
