26 year old mom on a mission

I'm a 26 year old single mom to a wonderful 5 year old boy. All my life I have been heavy. All my life I have had to listen to the snide remarks, the jokes, the fat shaming. Not only from kids at school but at home too. For the last 5 years, I have been trying, and failing to lose weight. Lately, I have been doing much better at my eating and exercise habits. I want to set a good example for my son. I want to be confident, I want to prove all those people wrong. I don't want to hear, "You would be a pretty girl if you lost some weight". I am pretty damn it. But I would be prettier if I lost the weight. And healthier. Any advice from anyone in a similar position? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi

I was overweight from a young age and then all of a sudden I lost so much weight that I became anorexic in my late teens. I am now married and have been trying for a baby for over a year, and need to lose weight, because I am now clinically obese for my height.

I find it such a challenge. I have become lazy and just reliant on take always due to my profession taking most of my time.

I hate looking at pictures of myself and my confidence has been knocked. But I have finally decided to take action and need all the motivation I can get! I am sure we can motivate eachother. :D

    Hi,

Results will not happen overnight, but the self-confidence you get from knowing that you are working toward the goals you set wilI happen instantly. Just knowing that I am making the effort to better myself and saying that I did it at the end of each workout, gives me the motivation to continue. I have never been the "skinny girl", but I am totally ok with that. I happen to like my curves, of course I am always working at making sure they are in the right places. I am always striving to be a better me! You just got to remember... It's just you againgst you! What we put in our mouth and how we treat our body is one of the few things in life we have total control over.

Here is a quote that I like...
You have always been beautiful, now your just deciding to be healthier, fitter, faster & stronger! Remember that!
