    I would say my main priority is to have a strong, fit, healthy body that will see me into old age with as few physical problems as possible.

    But to answer your specifics:

    Rate the mental health benefits
    0= not important 1=important 2= very important
    • Stress relief - 1
    • Anger management - 0
    • Increased energy/ motivation - 1
    • Happiness (the exercise high) - 1

    Rate the physical benefits
    0= not important 1= important 2=very important
    • Better looks/body - 2
    • Lose weight - 0
    • Increased fitness - 1

    • Better looks/body 2
    • Lose weight 0
    • Increased fitness 2

    What started for me as an activity to relieve stress and to forget about tragic life events turned into something that I enjoy. The euphoria I get from fitness is nothing else, the added improvement in looks is a nice bonus as well.

    Wow, didn't get the anger mgmt. but see that others find it high on their scale. I am more in the belief of better health, body is a temple and I have ignored its care. It's not what it can do for me, but rather what can I do for it.

    I have dieted off and on throughout my life and placed different emphases on different things each time.

    This time, however, I am more focused on health. But looking good is always nice as well :P

    I do it for intrinsic reasons. It's a part of my life and I "pay" into it to reap the long term benefits later in life.
