Sugar!

I am new to MFP and as a result this is the first time that my nutrition allowances have been broken down into sugar, sodium etc. I am horrified at the amount of sugar that I must have been eating and I am looking for tips recommendations for low sugar food alternatives without any nasty's. Any tips/ web sites/ recipes would be appreciated. Also is there a consensus among you that swear by sticking to the sugar allowance set by MFP?

Change your settings and track fiber instead of sugar, unless you are diabetic of course.

Wait - that's not what you are asking

I will be of no use here - i don't track my sugar!

I go over sugar almost every day - fruit alone will put you over. I agree with the previous poster, unless you have a medical reason to limit sugar or you eat a ridiculous amount that is making you go over in calories - track something else.

Just try and eat whole natural foods (or recipe's made from whole foods) and don't add any sugar, you should be fine.

It's refined sugar you want to keep an eye on. There's loads of fructose in fruit which will register as sugar but all sugars aren't created equal.

Err yes they are. Sugar is sugar . I agree though unless you have a medical problem there is no real need to worry about it

If it's from fruit I wouldn't worry if it is from processed food then start cooking you then don't have sugar.

Soup, bread, ready meals are all packed with sugar.

They are both sugar - our bodies will process them equally pending no medical reasons!
