Xenical - thoughts and experiences?

Hello folks,
I have a considerable amount of weight to lose, and while i am taking the slow and steady approach of eat less move more, i did ask my doctor about additional tools.
He said that the only really effective drug currently approved (I'm in Canada btw) is Xenical. I've never tried any kind of drugs to lose weight, and i'm kind of wary about it, but thought i'd see if anyone else had experience with this one. He did talk about the side effects (ummm, yuck) and unfortunately it would not be covered by my insurance, so i'd be looking at about $400 for a three month trial run of it, and expected loss would be about 5-7 lbs per month. I have no negative health issues right now to prevent me from taking it.
So, i'm definitely UNdecided, but considering the possibility. Please let me know the good the bad and the ugly.

I think you would benefit by saving that $400.00 for something more important, like lots of healthy foods. If you feel iffy about taking it, then don't
You sound smart. You understand that it's going to take a while. So, follow your gut. $400.00 is a lot of money. You could buy two GOOD second hand bicycles for $400.00. Just an example.
I don't know how much you need to lose, but give yourself three months to see what the results are with healthy eating and exercise.
I wish you luck in your journey. Keep at it!0
