Protein vs. Vegetables

After a short vacation and days of overindulging, with constant eating in restaurants I always feel bloated and like I have gained weight. As a remedy I have always tried to detox for 3-5 days before getting back to my healthy dietary routine. During these detoxes of mine, I have always eaten only soups and salads with lots of vegetables, yet I am wondering whether it'd be better to do like a Dukan sort of diet, eating only proteins for few days in order to reduce the bloating.
What do you think, is it better to go all veggies or all proteins? Of course this extremely restricted diet is only for few days.

There is no need to do a "cleanse." Just get back on track, eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, drink a bunch of water and get your workouts in.
Also, protein and vegetables are not mutually exclusive. I get 98% of my protein from plants an the other 2% from dairy and eggs (which I'm cutting out.)0 -
Honestly, after days of restaurant eating, it's likely both a little weight gain plus bloating from a (maybe? likely?) sodium intake in excess of your norm. Sodium is necessary for health in general, but over indulgence in an otherwise moderate diet can lead to the bloat. Just go back to your standard food choices, and make sure you're staying well hydrated. The bloat will go back down, no need for a "cleanse".0

I just eat all regular and stuff and drink some water...that bloat is usually gone within 2-3 days.0

I would think about Metamucil or some sort of fiber (in low, recommended amounts), just because eating out tends to be low fiber and you'll balance yourself better. For me, lots of water is also very important after I've been traveling and feel bloated. I also tend to just eat quite simply for a bit. It's what my body wants.0
