Fitbit calorie confusion

I just got my fitbit today, and I'm confused. Fitbit tells me I've burnt 1343 calories - I'm assuming most of this is just my BMR, since I've only walked 593 steps, I assumed that since it's linked with mfp, it would only start logging calorie 'burn' once my the calories burnt got above my MFP BMR which mfp says 2320 a day (sedentary) but MFP already say I've burned 641 exercise calories. Huh? so confused, it's confusing me. I'm easily confused.
