Low Calorie Easy Meals??

Hi my name is Paige. I am 5'5 and 179lb. I want to eventually get down to about 140lb.
I'm trying to be super strict on myself to get my weight down.
But I just might be the pickiest eater ever.
I DO NOT like ANY kind of vegatable.
So finding a variety of low cal meals is hard.
I'm also a college student with a full time job which is why "easy" is needed.
So far I have made a chicken and rice soup and spaghetti using squash.
Any no veggie meals? Or ways to hide veggies in meals?

If you are over the age of about 9 or 10, then you just need to get over it and eat your veggies. You'll learn to like them. A lot of low calorie recipes are going to have veggies.
Is it the flavor, the texture, the idea of them?? Is there any veggie you will eat (you like the spaghetti squash)?
What I would suggest, and, I know this sounds strange - is to get a friend or an SO to buy a bunch of different veggies. Maybe have them prepare them a few different ways (roasted, boiled, grilled, raw). Then, have you put on a blindfold and taste each veggie in each way without telling you what they are. Have them make a note of what you liked most. Then you are tasting things without the pressure or the visual of what you are eating.
Or, can you find a low calorie sauce or dressing that sufficiently covers the taste?
It will be hard without veggies, not gonna lie. I think the toughest thing is that you won't get as much "bulk" in your meals, so it will feel like you aren't eating much.
What does your diet look like now? Listing typical meals and foods you eat will help so we can know what you are eating now and what it needs to be replaced with.0 -
Also, I would search on some websites where moms sneak veggies into meatballs and stuff like that. Only thing is, I don't know how quick that will be.
I made this the other night and it was pretty quick - about 40 mins to make when you include the rice.

Frozen fish is relatively cheap and easy to cook! I usually grill it with courgette and onions and add some cous cous w a stock cube mixed in for flavour. Do you not like any vegetables at all? What about soups? Easy to make and you can do them in batches and it's am easy lunch idea. However I've also been a student and I doubt I would have made soup haha!
and you can add vegetables to soup! Also boiled eggs for snacks and sandwiches!0 -
The spaghetti squash is edible but I don't really like it. Most vegetables it's the texture and taste. I wind up gagging. I try over and over again cause they look so tasty! I just can't get t down0

Veggies are such a useful tool to help lose weight AND to keep it off (low calorie & filling). Losing weight is a lifestyle change for me.....it has to be. I've lost weight before & gained it back. Making permanent changes will help weight from creeping back up.
Do you have an oven or grill? Reynolds foil packets are super easy. Chicken breast, salsa (oops tomatoes) & taco seasoning. Top with cheese after it's done.

Crockpot cooking is super easy too. Many recipes are.....throw your ingredients in.....turn on ......dinner is ready in a few hours.0 -

Try cooking veggies many ways......try raw, try steamed, try grilled, try roasted.
Try fresh, try frozen, try canned (this is kind of nasty to me....but some people like it).
Try seasoning, try blending......just keep trying. There will be veggies you learn to like. It CAN'T be a texture thing with all veggies.....as all veggies do not have the same texture......same is true for taste. Not all the same flavor either.
No - veggies are not as tastey as ice cream.....but tiny servings of calorie dense foods are depressing if that's all I "want" to eat.0 -
I used to think sandwiches were the most boring thing on the planet... until I started heating them in a george foreman grill. I gladly take a sandwich every day to work now (yeah I keep the grill at my desk).0

Have you tried roasting your veggies? Roasted cauliflower is my fav!! Smoothies are a great way to sneak in some veggies also. Pintrest can be your best friend when looking for healthier things to eat. Here is my healthier eating pintrest board if you want to follow. http://www.pinterest.com/tracie_bryan/healthier-eating/0

I think the moral of the story was that he found a method of preparation that made the food more appealing.0 -
I add 3 cups of spinach or kale to my smoothies in the morning- you can't even taste it.
You need to eat your vegetables somehow!0 -
Tuna salad made with low cal mayo is yummy
I know it's "awful" to suggest, but I love premade frozen (low cal) meals for when I'm craving something but don't trust myself to portion it correctly lol, plus they're great when I'm feeling extra lazy.
Chocolate PB2 is the greatest thing on earth lol
Egg whites and turkey sausage are very low calorie and make for an awesome breakfast!
Baked potato and low calorie chili- also an awesome dinner0
