There are elements that make it difficult such as PCOS, hypothyroidism and cortisol but it isn't impossible.

Also that first lady looks like Christie Clark. Booooooo.

^^^ I'm with you, and having more than one of those issues make it much more harder! People think it'a cake. It isn't IMPOSSIBLE, but it isn't a walk in the park like some people might think it is. Thing is a person suffering from those issues can put fourth the same amount of effort as someone else and see 0 results. The work is 10x harder.

Or you are me and you maintain your weight no matter what you eat - 1200 calories, 1500 calories, 2000 calories, 1000 calories... and 3 doctors cannot figure out why.

Sometimes its not as simple as eat this amount, work out this amount.... and trust me I work out 5 days a week, alternate 3 days lifting, 2 days cardio... my weight has changed .4 pounds in a month.

    Edited for spelling.
  • Hypothyroidism is an excuse. I have it, have had it for over 7 years & lost 70 lbs! As Nike says "Just Do It." Make up your mind, be determined, set goals, and follow through. BOOM.

I dont necessarily think it's an "excuse" for everyone who has it. I think for the ones who don't do anything about it it is an excuse, but for the ones who are doing something and losing it- it's an extra obstacle to overcome. It is possible though! Congrats on the loss btw!

In short: No. Unless you're dead, you can lose weight.

Hey, holy sh*te, I'm using that as an excuse.

Sorry to the OP, I don't mean to overhaul your thread. But do you take anything for your hypothyroidism? I also have it and I don't take anything for it, but am losing weight slowly.

My aunt was diagnosed and her doctor prescribed something and she dropped so much weight. I'm debating if I should ask my doctor as well.

OP here - this was just a joke. I'm not at all trying to make light of thyroid and other health issues.

Plus, even people in this thread who have thyroid issues have expressed that it's still not impossible to lose weight, it's just very difficult - which is actually what the guy in the original image series says.

I know I'm not the person you asked but I take 50mgs of synthroid daily to help support my thyroid. Since you're in Canada you might be able to get on a government plan to help pay for it.

    Thanks a lot!
Do you have any side effects?

I understand that there are health issues that will make losing weight much more difficult but it still isn't impossible.
