BMR & TDEE Question

Hey all.

I have some questions regarding the TDEE and BMR.

My BMR is 1603, and my TDEE is 2402 [This includes my daily cardio] - Is it really as simple as eating in between both to lose weight, or is there more to it than that?

I want to lose around 1 pound per week, so i'd need to eat around 1900 to accomplish that if i'm correct?

    Yeah, it's that simple.

It's as simple as eating enough below your TDEE to achieve your goals.

Yes, 1 lb of fat represents 3500 calories, or 500 calories per day. Keep in mind that actual weight loss tends to stop being linear at some point.

Actually, you're overcomplicating things - BMR is irrelevant, I'd say.

You need to eat at a deficit.

Best measure of a deficit is that the scales are going down, when averaged over time.

Taking a cut from my TDEE and staying above my BMR has given me my best success. I also aim for my macro targets (set at 40/30/30 carbs/fat/pro) as much as possible, but yeah - it's really that simple. I love the freedom in knowing my parameters, and that during holidays, or a splurge night (like a celebration/dinner or a wedding, etc) I can go right up to TDEE and know I won't gain.

It's been over 2 years of eating this way and I love it.

Eat less than your TDEE and you will lose weight.

I have a lot to lose so I eat TDEE -20%

This is less than my BMR, if I didn't eat less than my BMR I wouldn't lose weight.

And this is why I eat under my BMR ^_^

TDEE is the one you need to focus on.
