  • I have the same problem! I always feel guily afterwards so I don't know why I do it, but I do! :(
  • No you aren't because I do the same thing. I know it is because as soon as I talk about going on a diet or trying to loose weight I start to sabotage my efforts because of a perceived pressure not to fail.

There could be quite a few reasons why you're struggling. Are you restricting too much? I've noticed a lot of newbies trying to cut out everything they love instead of practicing moderation. Yes, moderation can be difficult at first, but it gets easier.

Also, what are your height, weight, and goal weight? It might be a good idea to ease yourself into this, first by losing .5 lb a month and then upping it to 1 lb, so on.

Also, refer to this chart when determining where your goal loss should be:

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal

I have the same problem. I will start eating something and I'm saying inside my head, "I really shouldn't be doing this", but I do anyway.
The key is to not beat yourself up. Every day is a new day. No one is perfect.
But, it is easier to binge eat if the foods that set you off are in the house.
I'm hoping that being on here and reading about other people's success and struggles will help to keep me more active and on track.
