I once read a member's profile in which she stated that she did not believe in motivation.

I thought she was on a war path - intense lifter.

Motivation is crap. You just have to do it whether you want to or not. feel like it or not because your well being depends on it.

It's having the option of living, an unhealthy lifestyle, but still living that allows you to think you can skip exercise, over eat, and wait until tomorrow.

Some things you just do.

Motivation definitely exists, but not all the timel. you have to be able to keep pushing even when it doesn't.

There are terms that I think are "over used" ad nauseum. Motivation, "clean eating", "everything in moderation".....

People have to have a desire to be or do something different that's strong enough that they will warrant them going through the effort.

Lots of people have seen me use this story about an old hound dog laying on the porch bellowing. Owner's neighbor happens by and asks what's wrong - dog's laying on a nail. Neighbor asks why the dog doesn't move - owner says, "Because it don't hurt him enough yet." The situation they are in has to become so unbearable that it warrants change....that change is actually favorable to staying in the situation they're in.

Call it motivation, "the force", or whatever - but whatever it is, it's there.
