Greek Yogurt vs. everything you can replace with it

So, I have been wondering about how almost everything "bad" for you can be replaced with Greek Yogurt. I don't know if this is one of those fads that pop up occasionally, but I was wondering if it actually is better than mayo, sour cream, and things like that. Anyone have knowledge of this?

People replace sour cream, mayo, etc. with greek yogurt for multiple reasons. Sometimes it's to up the amount of protein in the meal, sometimes it's to lower the calories, sometimes it gives it a better texture, and sometimes it's a combination of those or other reasons.0

I really like full fat or 2% Greek yogurt as a substitute for sour cream in cakes. I actually like the texture better though it's slightly more dry, so I have to adjust ingredients or baking time. For frosting, though, the actual sour cream seems to work much better.0

Greek yogurt has high protein, low to no fat, and low carbs (depending on brand). Yes it's very good for you compared to what it can replace. Fage 0% for example has 23 protein, 0 fat, 9 carbs, and only 130 calories for a cup of it. Hard to beat that!0
