Walking Songs

When I walk, I like to listen to the sounds of nature… the hawks calling as they fish in the river, the owls hooting, the crows having a hoolie in the woods, the wind in the trees. You get the idea. But in the car I like music. And on the way to walk, I like to be motivated. So I’ve been thinking of putting together a CD for myself for the car with “walking songs” on it. The theme is walking-the song must mention walking. For example Elton John’s “Midnight Creeper”. And Jim Croce’s “Walkin’ Back to Georgia”. What other suggestions do you have for this CD?

    I have five suggestions:

    1. Walkin' After Midnight
    2. I Walk The Line
    3. Walk This Way
    4. Quit driving to walk. Just walk. Walk to where you want to walk or walk as far as you can then walk back home. Stay out of the car.
    5. Forget the first three suggestions. Without the car, you won't need them.

    Walk the Walk

I have no idea what that song is, but it just hit me that it had to be a song title. Google says I'm right.

    Walk on the Moon

This game gets a lot easier if you just make up a title so obvious it HAD to be thought of by somebody else first, and then use Google to confirm.

"Walk on the Moon" by Great Big Sea is a terrific song! "This is my one small step, this is my walk on the moon..."

Thanks for the suggestions! Also, thanks for the suggestion to skip the car and just walk, but I don't live in a good area for that. I really kind of have to drive a few miles to a park or track to have a good, safe place to walk. Happily, I often meet a friend or two who also don't have good places to walk, and we walk together. And I've gotten to know some of the regulars (and their dogs) at the places where I walk which is nice.
